Level 2 NVQ — Plant Operations & Controlling Lifting Operations
A Level 2 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a nationally recognised, workplace-based qualification that demonstrates occupational competence in a chosen construction or plant operations role. Unlike classroom-based training, a Level 2 NVQ is completed in a normal working environment, allowing candidates to achieve their qualification while continuing to work.
What is a Level 2 NVQ?
Assessment is based on the ability to consistently perform the role to the required industry standard. Throughout the qualification, a dedicated assessor will work alongside the candidate, gathering evidence through workplace observations, professional discussions, knowledge questioning and supporting documentation.
Level 2 NVQs are suitable for experienced plant operators and lifting personnel already working within the construction industry. They provide recognised evidence of occupational competence and, where applicable, support progression from a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card to a CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card, subject to meeting the current CPCS scheme requirements.
