NVQ Level 5 — Appointed Persons
Level 5 NVQ — Controlling Lifting Operations — Planning Lifts
The Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations — Planning Lifts is a nationally recognised, workplace-based qualification designed for experienced Appointed Persons responsible for planning, organising and managing lifting operations.
What is a Level 5 NVQ?
Completed through workplace assessment, this qualification allows experienced professionals to demonstrate occupational competence while continuing to carry out their normal duties. Assessment is based on real workplace activities and the ability to consistently plan and manage lifting operations safely and in accordance with current legislation.
As an Appointed Person, you play a critical role in ensuring lifting operations are properly planned and safely executed — selecting suitable cranes and lifting accessories, assessing ground conditions, identifying hazards, coordinating personnel, implementing safe systems of work and ensuring compliance with BS 7121.
Where applicable, successfully achieving this qualification supports progression from a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card to a CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card, subject to meeting the current CPCS scheme requirements. RELO Training can guide candidates through the process from initial enquiry through to certification. No payment is taken at the point of enquiry.
